Abstract: We will discuss the basic results on the long-time behavior of solutions to the 2d Euler equation. Our focus will be on the loss of regularity of solutions in infinite time. A well known problem is to establish generic loss of regularity for solutions in the infinite time limit. We will discuss some recent partial results in this direction.
